SNSでリクエストを頂いていた【鬱】の因数分解をしてみました。
総画数29と画数の多い漢字ですが、分解すると2つのパーツになります。
林は2本の柱を表し、残りの部分は香草の意味です。
つまり、柱と柱の間で香草を臼でついている形を表しています。
したがって【鬱】は本来、香草を臼でついた時に立ち込める香気がこもる状況を意味する漢字だったのです。
そこから人の内面、ふさぎ込んでしまうことを意味するようになったようです。
それから部首は、鬯(においざけ)と言います。
名称の通り、匂いに関係する漢字ということが分かりますね。
私は今まで【鬱】という漢字に対してマイナスなイメージを持っていましたが、本来の意味が分かると、そんな先入観が変わっていきますね。
今回も新たな発見、勉強になりました。
[鬱Utsu] is a kanji with a large number of strokes of 29, but when disassembled, it becomes two parts.
林Lin represents two pillars, the rest is herbaceous.
In other words, it represents a shape where a herb is attached with a mortar between pillars.
Therefore, [鬱] is a kanji meaning a situation where there is a fragrance that can stand when the herb is put on the mortar.
From that point on, it seems to mean that people are plugging inside.
Then the radical says “Nioizake”.
As the name suggests, you can see that it is a kanji related to smell.
Until now, I had a negative image of the Kanji “鬱”, but once I understood the original meaning, that preconception changed.
This time, I learned something new.
